A childhood favorite – Tom Kho Tau!! It is often debated what this dish is really called. The actual translation is simply Shrimp braised the Chinese way. Some call it shrimp braised in clay pot with roe. What’s easily agreed on is that it’s SO good! Best enjoyed with fragrant, piping hot steamed jasmine rice and fresh cucumbers or lettuce to dip in the sauce. Watch my video for the explanation for roe vs. tomalley.
Here are the ingredients you will need:
3- 2inch green onion tips quartered length wise
5 Crushed gloves of garlic
Sauce Mixture:
¼ cup of water
½ Tbsp Fish Sauce (3 Crabs Brand)
½ Tbsp brown Sugar
1/8 tsp salt
Prawns seasoning:
In here I have:
¼ tsp granulated garlic
1/8 tsp salt
½ Tbsp Brown Sugar
½ Tbsp fish sauce
Tomalley from the prawns
½ lb River Prawns
