The fun part about visiting Bangkok is the fabulous food! The diversity of cultural cuisines and settings make it even more enticing; from hole-in-the-wall eateries – to fun fancy places like the Amaya Food Gallery!
So, we got a little dressed up for an adventure – at Amaya’s popular Friday Seafood Night. It’s conveniently located in the Amari Watergate Hotel, which was within easy walking distance from our accommodations on Pratunam/Petchburi Road.
The scene is impressive, as you step into the hotel’s grand foyer and are greeted with beautiful light features that resemble water drops. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and prepare to be amazed by the rich décor and expansive contemporary displays of the Amaya Food Gallery.
As I walk in, I’m transported to the grandest of buffets in Las Vegas, uniquely combined with the upscale markets of Bangkok. I was mesmerized – my eyes devouring the feast that awaits, temptingly arranged at numerous stations. Where would I start? From authentic Thai dishes, to Italian pastas, to an exotic and colorful array of Japanese sushi – or maybe I’d go carnivore with the expansive selections of butcher shop meats, the many fishes, or the salads, or the seemingly countless varieties of tropical fruits!!!
Oh, wait – even better – it was their “Friday Seafood Night!” Besides, the incredible selection of seafood (shellfish, crabs, shrimp, rock lobsters to name a few) everyone gets half a Maine Lobster prepared one of three ways – Grilled, Steamed or Baked with Cheese with a choice of sauces including Peppercorn sauce, Red Wine Sauce and OX Sauce. The prices are as follows: • THB 1,500++ per person (food only) • Additional beverage package can be added at THB 650++ per person, which provides guests with free-flowing red and white wine, juices, soft drinks and bottled water. Watch the video below as I take you to an ocean-fresh seafood buffet and a walk through the best of Thai street food all under one roof. You will see why I highly, recommend you visit the Amaya Food Gallery when you are in Bangkok.
